I attended Wonderfront Festival 2024 in San Diego and had an absolute blast. I would love to go back one day. It is an amazing festival with so many things to do!
Wonderfront is a bit different to other festivals because not only is it spread over a few parts of the city, but you can come and go as you please! Something you can’t do at the vast majority of other festivals.
You have a wristband that you scan on entry, so you can just come and go. You did need to go through bag check each time, but that is to be expected. I never had to queue, and it was quick to get in and out.
There was of course music from some amazing acts, but there is also other things including a boat ride with music (yes you read that right), art displays, tasty food and much more!
With water and land activities, as well as being able to come and go, it is definitely a festival that is a above the rest! One of, if not the best festival I have attended!
There was a diverse mix of music over three days. The festival kicked off with electrifying performances by Kaytranada, JID, T-Pain, and Dayglow.
Saturday continued with amazing sets from Carly Rae Jepsen, Dominic Fike, and Weezer.
The festival wrapped up on Sunday with performances by Beck, The Roots, and Steel Pulse.
There was a mix of big-name acts and emerging artists, all set against the beautiful San Diego waterfront, making it a must-visit festival! I really do think you should go at least once. It is very different and a brilliant experience.
As a disabled person (was not using a wheelchair at the event), I found there were lots of places to sit, whether that be on the grass or in seats along the waterfront, so I could sit as much as I needed. There were also places to sit on the walk from the parking lot to the event itself as you can walk alongside the river where there is seating and grassy patches.
So if like me, you can’t walk too far without needing to sit, you will be fine here.
The event is mostly in a grassy area, so there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the event. Bring a blanket if you wish for ultimate comfort! I brought a clear bag and packed a blanket and pillow.
